Welcome from the Head of Sixth Form

We believe that post-16 education is the crucial time for students to develop their interests and aspirations. To enable our students to reach their potential and be happy and successful learners, we strive to create a caring, supportive and aspirational learning community, with high expectation and opportunities for all.

Our varied curriculum pathways offer a wide range of A Level, Level 3 BTEC and contemporary vocational courses. This ensures that students are able to pursue their specific interests and develop the academic skills to flourish in their chosen next steps.   I am immensely proud of our academic record. Teaching and Learning is of the highest quality and we have been recognised as consistently being within the top 15% of post-16 providers nationally. Excellent facilities, regular assessment, parent meetings and daily support from our exceptional pastoral team ensure our students succeed.

The Sixth Form is also a fun place to be. Students are valued as individuals and provided with opportunities to learn life skills, pursue wider interests. We also offer exceptional guidance to support students in accessing university education, including Oxbridge and Russell Group, and careers in a wide range of fields, so that they are able to take their place in the world as successful and well rounded global citizens.

Every year about a third of our cohort are new to King John. We value the range of experiences this brings and believe it adds to our vibrant learning community. Our ethos is to celebrate success and value aspiration. We are determined to ensure that every student succeeds and maximises their potential.
