My Child At School (MCAS)
My Child At School is an online parental/student engagement system available to all parents/carers and students at the King John School.
My Child At School provides access to a wealth of information through either a mobile app or via a laptop/computer.
How can Parents/Carers access and login to My Child At School?
My Child At School is available through a number of platforms and can be accessed on most devices with access to the internet:
- Mobile App – Parents/Carers can download the My Child At School app for free on both the iOS and Android app stores. Search for “My Child At School” and look for the app which looks like the icon to the right.
- Laptop/ Computer – My Child At School can also be accessed through a web browser.
Once parents/carers have downloaded the app/ browsed to the website they will need to login to the system. See the below guidance for how parents/carers can log on:
Username / Password – Login details will be sent to the email address you have provided to the school. The invitation email will be sent from bromcom@thekjs.com, please check your junk mail if you have not received it. We may also use this email address for future communication so please ensure you add it as a “safe sender”.
What information is available to Parents/Carers on My Child At School?
Parents/Carers will be able to view the following information about your child through My Child At School:
- Timetable
- Achievement points
- Behavior points
- School reports
- Attendance information
- Homework set by teachers
- Update contact information stored by the school
- Upcoming exams
- Latest parent newsletters/ bulletins
- Your child’s cashless catering balance and transactions - Coming in August 2026...
How can Students access and login to the Bromcom VLE?
The Bromcom VLE is available through a number of platforms and can be accessed on most devices with access to the internet:
- Mobile App – Students can download the Bromcom VLE app for free on both the iOS and Android app stores. Search for “Bromcom Student App” and look for the app which looks like the icon to the right.
- Laptop/ Computer – the Bromcom VLE can also be accessed through a web browser.

Once students have downloaded the app/ browsed to the website they will need to login to the system.
See the below guidance for how students can log on:
Students do not need to use a Bromcom username or password.
They can just select the "Login with Microsoft Account" button at the bottom as shown below.
- Username: Will be students school email (Example format below)
“Year Started KJS | Surname | Initial of First name | @thekjs.com”
e.g. Joe Bloggs in Year 7 would login using 26BloggsJ@thekjs.com.
- Password – Enter the same password used to login to the computers in school.
What information is available to Students on the Bromcom VLE?
Students will be able to view the following information through Bromcom VLE:
- Timetable
- Achievement points
- Upcoming exam countdown
- Homework
- Cashless catering
To email your childs SSO
- Login to the MCAS App or Web page.
- Select the Message icon.
- From the drop down list please select your child's SSO.

What can I do if I cannot access My Child At School or the Student VLE?
Students – If you are having issues logging in to the Bromcom VLE or cannot remember your login details please see the ICT Technicians in UD15.
Parents/Carers – If you have forgotten your Bromcom MCAS password, select "Forgot Password" on the MCAS app or the MCAS login page. Enter the email address linked to your account, then follow the instructions sent to your email to reset your password.
