Your 2025 Application Timeline (for September 2026 start)

Thursday 9th October 2025 - Open Evening 6.30pm - 9.00pm
Friday 10th October 2025 - Applications Open (online form available via the school website)
Monday 10^th November – Application deadline for King John students
Monday 1^st December 2025 - Application deadline for students new to King John
Spring term - Subject Consultation meetings (King John Students and by request)
End of April 2026 – Offers confirmed
6th – 8th July 2026 – Induction Period
Thursday 20^th August 2026 GCSE Results Day and enrolment into Sixth Form

Top Tips for your application

Please note the instructions for each of the different pathways and select only one subject from each block. On the blended pathway you should mix a BTEC with two A-levels but again you cannot select more than one subject from each block.

Do also look at subject specific entry requirements.

Please note Further Mathematics is only available to those students who are studying mathematics at A-level and whose average points are over 6.5.

EPQ is encouraged as a fourth subject for those students with an average points score of over 6.5.

Core Maths is an AS Level that can be taken as an additional subject for those students on the Academic pathway and that may need Maths in their future, for example those wishing to pursue Business, Economics, Geography or Psychology. This is not appropriate for students studying Maths A Level.

Good to Know

While every effort will be made to accommodate your choice of subjects, we cannot guarantee to run a subject if demand for it is too low to make it viable.

On results day we are happy to review your subject choices if you change your mind, subject to your examination performance and numbers.
