Inclusivity Award
Have you seen us in The #Echo today? We're thrilled with this news! Well done to all involved!
Full press release as follows:
Last week, Rebecca Harris MP came into King John School to present the students with the prestigious IQM award.
The award is a nationally recognised validation of our inclusive practice and ongoing commitment to ensuring all pupils regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, achievements or background are given the equal opportunities to succeed.
The school is especially pleased as they have also been told they are a ‘centre of excellence’ for the award, meaning they lead the way for the standards and practices of the award!
Louise Wall, who led on the accreditation, said “I’m especially proud of our achievement because it was awarded for everything we are already doing. During the 2 day inspection visit our assessor commented on how inclusion was evident in everything we did. As always our students were amazing at demonstrating our core values in all they said and did over the 2 days and are a driving force behind our work on inclusion.”
