Appointment of Mr Steel and Ofsted Inspection
CEO of Zenith Multi Academy Trust, Dr. Margaret Wilson CBE said:
“After the school went to national advert, and following a large field of external candidates, I am delighted to confirm that Mr. Daniel Steel has been appointed Headteacher of The King John School with immediate effect. Mr. Steel’s leadership has already made a huge, positive impact at King John with students, staff and the wider community – as evidenced in the recent Ofsted monitoring inspection. I know our parents will join us in congratulating Mr Steel and we look forward to the future under his expert leadership.”
Mr. Daniel Steel said
“It is a great honour to be appointed as the new Headteacher of The King John School. King John has a legacy in our community like no other, with many seeing it as the heart of the local area. I will honour this tradition with the promise that, with a strong leadership team working alongside me, I will ensure that students are put first by continuing to provide a strong education for them, with equally strong opportunities that improve their life chances.
This is an exciting time as the school moves into an equally exciting future. I am pleased that Ofsted have acknowledged this new momentum during their most recent visit by commenting on the determination of our school leaders and the support from Zenith Trust. I am also exceptionally proud that our emphasis on Student Voice has been noticed, with focus on the fact that we use student and parent views in order to adapt our curriculum and life inside the school.
Ofsted saw and remarked on how we are taking effective action to provide education during the pandemic. We are moving forward as a school and I very much look forward to welcoming our students back.’
