We teach Food to

  • Engage and enthuse learners to instil a love and passion for cooking
  • Provide relevant and life-long skills, knowledge and understanding of food, practical skills and nutrition to encourage students to cook for themselves and to make healthy eating food choices
  • Provide students with an understanding of the cost of food and how to make economical and nutritious meals
  • Encourage and embed knowledge and links to science within the context of food
  • Challenge and encourage students to develop their knowledge and confidence through learning high level practical skills
  • Provide a deeper knowledge and understanding of the wider world and environmental factors affecting food choice
  • Allow students the opportunity to explore multicultural perspectives concerning food
  • Support students physical and mental well-being through a greater understanding of nutrition and dietary related diseases
  • Equip learners with knowledge and practical skills and industrial practices for future learning and employment
