These educational experiences will enable students to achieve in a wide range of different contexts, to develop existing talents, and to discover new interests and passions. We provide an extensive array of sporting and cultural opportunities, and a wide range of fascinating trips and visits to enjoy. The curriculum and the opportunities we provide support our values of Positivity, Resilience, Integrity, Dignity and Equality.
The elements of our curriculum and educational approach are as follows;

This holistic approach acknowledges the importance we place into both academic and practical skills in preparing students for the future.

- Broad and Balanced Curriculum: Our curriculum offers a diverse range of subjects and extracurricular activities, catering to different interests and talents. This ensures that students have the opportunity to explore a variety of subject areas and develop a well-rounded skill set.
- Flexibility and Support: As a school we recognise the diverse needs of all students, we have introduced greater flexibility in the curriculum, providing support tailored to individual needs. This inclusive approach aims to ensure that all students receive the assistance they need to succeed academically and personally.
- Preparation for Future Success: The curriculum is designed to prepare students for their future roles as young adults in the world. This includes offering a wide range of courses and opportunities for progression, enabling students to make informed choices about their academic and career paths.

At the King John School, we are constantly looking at ways to improve our curriculum to better meet the needs of our young people in a rapidly changing world. In particular, we have recognised the additional challenges faced by vulnerable students and those with complex needs. To this end, we have introduced more support from Zenith Minds and raised awareness with all staff of these additional needs, whilst remaining ambitious for academic outcomes with all students.
