Sixth Form

The King John Sixth Form is in the top 15% nationally, benchmarked against 2817 schools and colleges in the UK for A-level outcomes.

Students go on to university, employment and further training from the sixth form.  Information, advice and guidance about post-18 provision supports our students accessing the correct courses and succeeding in their next steps.  133 students went on to study at university in September 2018.

It is worth noting in 2018:

  • 50% of students achieved A*-B at A-level;
  • 12 students achieved 3 As or better at A-level;
  • 31 students achieved A A B at A-level;
  • 36 students out of 46 achieved A*-B in maths at A-level.

Tech Levels

Tech levels are level 3 qualifications for students wishing to develop the specialist skills and knowledge for technical occupation or industry.  They lead to recognised occupations, for example in engineering, IT accounting or professional cookery.
