King John Academy of Arts

The King John Arts Academy started in January 2012 and has gone from strength to strength. It is an Academy that focuses on meeting the needs and developing key artistic skills for the local community. Any profits made go directly into Arts provisions at The King John School.

Following on from the huge success of last year’s exam- June 2014: 100% pass rate 90% Merit/Distinction we are proud to offer LAMDA examination classes again. We have a class for everyone, from newcomers to Advanced. These classes will develop an understanding of text, an exploration of character and motivation as well as developing key life skills in a fun environment.


Art Skills with Ingrid Anderson


  • Ideal for: 10- 18 years old
  • Develops a variety of Art skills including the use of drawing, paint and pastels.

We are proud to offer a fabulous opportunity for students to learn from Ingrid Anderson, Ingrid is a local Essex based professional artist who has exhibited across London and Essex. In 2010 she was awarded a place at the prestigious Cork Street Gallery London. Ingrid will be teaching students a variety of professional techniques that promises to improve students Art Skills in just 6 sessions.

Yoga and Meditation

Following on from the success of the Yoga Bootcamp Class in the Autumn Term we would like to offer you the opportunity to take part in our ‘Beginner Yoga and Meditation’ class.

Find it hard to relax?
Suffer from stress?
Worry too much about the past or future?
Feeling anxious about school / work?
Find regular aches and pains?
Maybe feeling weak in the joints or inflexible?
With a regular yoga and meditation practice all of the above and more can be improved.

This beginner’s yoga and meditation course is designed for anyone regardless of age, gender, size or fitness/flexibility level to be able to boost health and well being on all levels.

Each week, you will be taught from the very foundation and upwards learning at your own pace. And, as the class size is purposely smaller than that at a gym, you can receive individual attention helping you feel at ease and confident in your practice. Using gentle movements you will notice you become stronger, more flexible and feel good in your own skin – promoting a better quality of life. Start glowing from the inside out and attract positive energy towards you.

Each class has time dedicated to relaxing as well as guided meditation, where you will discover a way to become mindful, let go and simply be in the here and now. Release stress and anxiety through breathing properly and learn various techniques that you can apply to every situation.

All this with just one hour a week dedicated to you!
